World's only million dollar Harley

At cool $1 million, this is the world's first and only million dollar Harley. Artist Jack Armstrong's "Cosmic Starship" Harley-Davidson motorcycle which he painted, has been unveiled at Bartels Harley-Davidson in Marina Del Rey, California (United States) on October 21, 2010. Armstrong is renowned for his inimitable painting style called Cosmic Extensionalism and his paintings usually range from $300,000 to $3,000,000.

The model is sure to attract both art and bike fans worldwide. In Armstrong's words "to paint a million dollar Harley is legendary, like the bike!".

John Travolta rode a Bartels Harley in the film Hogs, but Armstrong's million dollar Harley is a movie in itself," a statement from Bartels Harley Davidson said.

Armstrong's art combines extreme colors and textures, and you can see the words appearing magically throughout his paintings while looking from different angles.

A commercial for a Nivea anti-wrinkle cream that gave the impression it helped women to feel more beautiful than when they were ten years younger has been banned.

The Advertising Standards Authority(ASA) warned the cinema advertisement was misleading.

The commercial showed a woman moisturising her face in front of a mirror, with a voiceover stating 'Nivea Visage Anti-Wrinkle Q10 Plus helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles'.

A group of her friends then greeted her with a birthday cake, and the voiceover continued: 'So it's no surprise that 37per cent of women feel more attractive now than they did ten years ago.'

However, a viewer complained the advertisement did not make clear whether the 37per cent claim was referring to women in general or just those who had used the cream.

Manufacturers Beiersdorf said that the claim had been taken from a survey conducted on attitudes and philosophies to life, adding that the 12,267 responses came from subscribers to the Nivea e-mail newsletter.

It said most of these women would probably be Nivea users, however it admitted it could not be certain how many.

In fact the statistic about 37per cent of women feeling more attractive than when they were younger was actually a response to a general attitudes survey and not linked to using Nivea products at all.

The watchdog banned the ad, saying: 'The ASA considered that the claim would be understood by consumers to mean that 37per cent of women interviewed felt more attractive because they used the advertised product.

However, we understood from the survey that respondents had been asked whether they agreed with the statement 'I feel more attractive today than I did ten years ago' in general terms, rather than in relation to the advertised product or its effects.

'We considered that the ad presented the relationship between the advertised product and the survey results in a way that was ambiguous, and could be confusing for consumers, and we therefore concluded that the ad was misleading.

'The ad must not appear again in its current form.'

Beiersdorf said: 'Nivea Visage conducted a survey on attitudes and philosophies to life via subscribers to the NIVEA newsletter and asked whether the female respondents felt more attractive now than they did ten years ago.

'We conduct these surveys to demonstrate an emotional connection between looking after your skin and they way it makes you feel.

'We believe good skincare enables a better emotional status, so when 37per cent of women replied that they felt more attractive now, we used the data as it was such a positive message.'

Half lion, half tiger - it's the baby liger... and his 64 stone brother

Their heads are shaped like a lioness’s, yet faint stripes and shorter legs suggest a different *heritage. Are these lions or tigers? Neither – they are ligers, a cross between a male lion and a tigress.

Four-week-old Aries hardly cuts a commanding figure as he sits on his big brother’s head. Yet the cub will grow to match colossal Hercules, who weighs more than 64 stone.

Ligers grow at such an explosive rate, piling on about 1 lb per day, that by the time Aries reaches his first birthday, he is expected to weigh more than 26 stone.

When he is three, he could be more than 50 stone, and a few more years on he may challenge his brother for the title of the world’s biggest hybrid cat.

Standing almost 6ft tall to the tips of his ears, Hercules has a page devoted to him in the Guinness World Records book.

The siblings, both more playful than pure lions, were born at Myrtle Beach Safari wildlife reserve in South Carolina.

The project is run by The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (T.I.G.E.R.S.).
Its director, Dr Bhagavan Antle, said: ‘Aries could be just as big as Hercules and it is entirely possible he could be bigger.

‘Generally lions and tigers don’t reproduce and the male lion breeding with a tiger has only happened three times.

‘The great thing about ligers is they have this extreme social ability they get from their lion fathers.They enjoy the social life and enjoy touching and interactive play.’

Trainer Moksha Bybee, 30, added: ‘The liger’s aggression is tempered by the mother tiger which gives them a greater social capacity. They love rolling against you and wanting to touch and play.’

The alternative combination of the two fiercest big cats – a cross between a male tiger and a lioness – is known as a tigon. They are as rare as ligers but smaller, and are being bred in China.

Normally, it is virtually impossible for the two species to mate in the wild as lions are mostly found in Africa and most tigers on the Asian continent. The two tribes are also extremely territorial.

Hercules is the heaviest from his litter of ligers, all of them born in 2002. He already has three brothers called Sinbad, Vulcan and Zeus.

Ligers have lighter stripes than tigers and a lion-shaped head, but with little mane.

Hercules’s face is 2ft 3in across and his 2in claws are the same size as those of a velociraptor dinosaur (famed for
its role as a deadly predator in the film Jurassic Park).

Like tigers, he also likes to swim – a feat almost unheard of among lions, which fear water.
